About Me

I’m a conservation enthusiast with interest in all things aquatic.

Mother of a two-year-old, I love to call myself a #SharkMom and in love with the #LoveSharks hashtag. I teach Zoology at Biyanibazar Government College under the National University of Bangladesh.

In October 2015 I started my journey in conservation as a Research Associate (Pro-Bono) with Save Our Sea and currently contributing in the Bay of Bengal Shark Program.

Previously, I’ve worked with ICDDR, B as a MS Researcher for my thesis titled Identification and Molecular Study of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Estuarine and Freshwater Fishes of Dhaka City Markets. Before that I was an Intern with Ecosystems for Life: a Bangladesh-India Initiative at IUCN Bangladesh Country Office.

At the Department of Zoology in the University of Dhaka from where I’ve obtained my Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 2011 and Master of Science in Zoology (Fisheries) in 2012 , I was an Assistant Researcher with Urban Lake Project.

I hope to study and work in the fields of Molecular Ecology and Conservation Genetics.
